TOMS RIVER – Only minor injuries were reported after a two-car collision in the township on Thanksgiving Day.
Toms River Police said 36-year-old Allyssa Lightner of Barnegat was traveling east in the right lane of Route 37 approaching the intersection of Mule Road on a red traffic signal when she collided with 27-year-old Sarah Martello of Toms River, who entered the intersection with a green traffic signal.
Department spokesperson Jillian Messina confirmed that both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed by Priced Right Towing.
Martello sustained minor injuries and was transported to Community Medical Center.
Lightner was issued a summons for Failing to Observe a Traffic Signal.
The accident is being investigated by Traffic Safety Officer PJ Gambardella.
