POINT PLEASANT – An 80-year-old man was sentenced to a decade in prison for dealing crystal meth, heroin and fentanyl.

Carl Chianese, 80, of Point Pleasant will be serving time for selling about 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine and thousands of pills containing heroin or fentanyl, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said. In addition to his jail time, he will have three years of supervised release.

He had been charged with dealing drugs while on court supervision for two earlier federal drug trafficking cases.

Chianese worked with conspirator Joseph Servidio and sold drugs on multiple occasions to an undercover FBI agent. Servidio is allegedly a member of La Cosa Nostra. His sentencing is scheduled for March 26.

When FBI agents arrested Chianese, they found a .38 caliber revolver, a magazine for a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun, and more than $25,000 in cash.
