TOMS RIVER – Nighttime drivers passing through Toms River tomorrow night will face lane shifts at the Route 166 intersection.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation said Tuesday the traffic shift will start around 10 p.m. June 27 and continue through 6 a.m. the next morning.

The department’s contractor, New Prince Concrete, will shift traffic toward the curb line on Route 166 in both directions. The contractor will be able to construct a median barrier curb on Route 166 between Route 37 and Highland Parkway.

NJDOT reported that traffic shift is expected to be in place until later this summer.

The entire $11.7 million Route 166 project began in March 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of this year, state officials said.
