BARNEGAT – A good Samaritan was instead duped by a couple who didn’t tell him a dropped wallet wasn’t theirs. Instead, the man pocketed the wallet and left the store.
Barnegat Police are circulating a surveillance video provided by Wawa which shows the man and woman in question.
“Our agency is investigating a theft of a wallet from the West Bay Avenue Wawa on July 9, 2019. Anyone that can identify the male subject wearing the baseball hat and dark shirt or the female subject wearing the red shirt and glasses is asked to contact Detective William Hetrick at 609-698-5000 ext. 218,” the department announced via its Facebook page.
