JACKSON – A guest to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park suffered injuries while riding the popular Tornado funnel slide on Labor Day, according to theme park officials.

Ocean County Scanner News was first to report the incident. Six Flags Great Adventure spokesperson Kristin Fitzgerald told Jersey Shore Online that the adult visitor complained of back and neck pain before being taken to the hospital.

Fitzgerald said “our initial investigation indicates that the guest’s tube overturned as a result of another guest jumping out of the tube, which is a violation of the park’s safety policies.”

The incident took place at around 3:30 p.m. on September 6.

No word on the condition of the guest.

Fitzgerald added “the safety of our guests and team members is our top priority.”
