TOMS RIVER – Multiple law enforcement agencies in Ocean County are on the scene in Downtown Toms River at the county’s parking garage after an apparent suicide Thursday night.
Ocean County Scanner News was the first to report that a person jumped from the top floor of the garage located on Hooper Avenue in the township.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.
According to Scanner chatter, the Ocean County Medical Examiner was on their way to the scene and the Toms River Fire Department was called in to aid the scene.
Toms River Township Police Spokesperson Jillian Messina tells Jersey Shore Online that “The Toms River Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and CSI from the Sheriffs Department are investigating the death of a male who sustained fatal injuries from a fall from the Ocean County Parking Garage. At this time the investigation is ongoing and we will provide a release when further information becomes available.”
