OCEAN COUNTY – While you might be busy shopping for holiday gifts for friends and family, the Ocean County Health Department (OCHD) reminds you to take care of yourself too.
The OCHD will be hosting a free health screening event on Dec. 3 from 4-7 p.m. at 175 Sunset Ave. in Toms River. Stay healthy for the holiday season with free health screenings, flu shot clinic, and access to important OCHD resources and information at this special event.
“Save the date and visit us for this unique open house event. It’s one-stop shopping for you and your friends to learn more about the variety of public health services and programs that help meet the community’s most pressing health needs,” stated Ocean County Freeholder Director Gerry P. Little, liaison to the Ocean County Board of Health.
It’s not too late to protect yourself against the flu. Come in for a free flu shot and keep healthy for all the holiday parties and get-togethers ahead.
OCHD representatives will be present at the event to teach Ocean County residents about the department’s many services, including:
- Emergency Preparedness
- Clinics Services
- Substance Abuse Resources
- Maternal and Child Health, and
- Community-Based Flu Clinics.
“Do you know someone who can benefit from our services? Even if that time isn’t now, it may benefit someone in the future. This event is offered to continue our on-going effort to spread the word about the important services and resources we provide and to educate the public,” stated Daniel E. Regenye, Ocean County Health Department Public Health Coordinator. “We also encourage our friends in the faith-based community to come out and join us on December 3 so they can share all this information with their friends and families.”
The first 50 people in attendance will be given a free gift bag with their visit.
