JERSEY SHORE — Ocean and Monmouth Counties had three $1 million Powerball winners as New Jersey set a record for second-tier prizes in Wednesday night’s $143.4 million drawing.

One winning ticket was sold in Ocean County at Toms River Exxon, 13 Route 37 East in Toms River.

Two more were sold in Monmouth County: 7-Eleven #27769, 2145 Route 35 in Holmdel, and Quick Chek #65, 3607 Highway 33 in Neptune.

The tickets were among 18 New Jersey winners that matched five numbers but missed the Powerball, the most second-tier winners the state has recorded in a single drawing. Four other New Jersey tickets doubled their prizes to $2 million with the Power Play option, but none were sold in Ocean or Monmouth counties.

The winning numbers were 3, 19, 35, 51 and 67. The Powerball was 15, and the multiplier was 2.

Lottery officials said the unusually high number of winners nationwide may have been tied to players choosing numbers from a single vertical column on their play slips.

The jackpot-winning tickets were sold in Kansas and Indiana, splitting the $143.4 million prize. The Powerball jackpot resets to $20 million for Saturday’s drawing.
