LAKEWOOD – Authorities are currently investigating a shooting that left a juvenile injured Monday evening.
According to Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith, Lakewood Police were alerted around 10:30 p.m. that a 16-year-old was at Community Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.
It was later revealed that the shooting occurred in the area of Davina Court in Lakewood. Nearby residents told police that they heard what sounded like gunshots about 30 minutes earlier.
The victim told police that he and other occupants of a car were meeting with at least one other person when gunshots rang out.
The victim was brought to the hospital by his friends for treatment.
