Ocean County Sheriff’s Officer Remembered, Services Announced

  OCEAN COUNTY – Funeral services for Ocean County Sheriff’s Officer Brian Stockhoff have been arranged for February 18 in Brick Township.

  Stockhoff passed away at age 41, in a fatal car crash on February 14 near the Lakewood-Brick Township border.

  Before moving to Ocean County, Stockhoff was born and raised in Champagne, Illinois. He lived in Bay Head with his parents and brothers at the age of 9, and also resided in Brick with his wife and children before moving to Jackson in 2013.

  Stockhoff was an Officer for the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office and Executive board member acting as Secretary of PBA local 379, his obituary states. He was also a United States Army veteran who served two years in Iraq. Before deployment, Stockhoff started at the University of South Florida and earned his Associates Degree in science from Ocean County College in 2006.

  “Brian was an avid sports fan that included the NY Yankees and the San Francisco 49ers. His love of sports inspired his children to participate in baseball and football where he also coached for the local teams. He also enjoyed kayaking and horseback riding with is family as well as golfing with his friends,” the obituary states.

  Stockhoff is survived by his wife, Heather Rose Stockhoff and their two children Brody and Madison; as well as his parents and his four brothers along with many nieces and nephews.

  Services for Stockhoff will be held on February 18 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, while a funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on February 19.
