LAKEWOOD – A Tier 3 sex offender who failed to register his new address was arrested Friday.

David McBride, 54, of Lakewood, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender for failing to register his new address within 48 hours of being released on June 5, a Megan’s Law mandate. He had signed documents acknowledging he must register before his release.

Det. Argento of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Megan’s Law Unit, along with members of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, located and arrested McBride July 20.

A Tier 3 sex offender is the highest risk level for sex offenders, the prosecutor’s office said.
McBride is being held in Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
