Ocean County Remembers Timothy E. Ryan

TOMS RIVER – Local funeral director, and political leader Timothy E. Ryan, 68, passed away after a long battle with cancer.

  Born in Orange, he lived in Howell settling in Seaside Park and Toms River with his wife, Denise. He split his time between New Jersey and Florida. He owned the line of funeral homes that bear his name.

  According to his biography, he also attended St. Joseph Seminary for Franciscan Friars, O.F. M. Pulaski, Wisconsin. He was a trustee at Community Medical Center, Toms River, New Jersey and at the Garden State Cancer Center in Belleville, New Jersey.

  His list of organizations that he was a part of are too numerous to name, but they include religious, social, and charitable organizations throughout the county. They include the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton, the Holy Name Society, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Rotary Club of Seaside, and the Knights of Columbus.

   Politically, he was a councilman in Seaside Park, and ran for higher office on the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the U.S. Congress in the Third Congressional District of New Jersey.
