LAKEWOOD – A 23-year-old Lakewood man was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop Saturday evening, police said.

Lakewood police officers stopped a white 2012 Ford pickup truck around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Woodlake Manor Drive after observing multiple motor vehicle violations, including unsafe driving and failing to stay within its lane.

Officers identified the driver as Jonathan Jair Jaimez Tochihuitl and determined he had been drinking alcoholic beverages, police said. He was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters, where breath testing showed a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit of 0.08%.

The vehicle was impounded under John’s Law, authorities said.

Jaimez Tochihuitl was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and several additional motor vehicle violations.

All charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
