MIDDLESEX COUNTY – A Jackson Township man charged in a Middlesex County undercover child luring investigation was released from custody less than 24 hours after his arrest, according to public inmate records.

Jorge A. Mora, 52, was arrested by East Brunswick police on December 11 following an online sting operation targeting individuals allegedly attempting to arrange sexual encounters with minors. The investigation was conducted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.

Authorities said Mora faces charges of luring or enticing a child, along with two counts of attempted criminal conduct. Prosecutors allege the charges stem from online conversations with an undercover officer posing as a minor.

Booking records show Mora was taken into custody at 8:59 p.m. and released at about 3:44 p.m. the following afternoon. No bail was set. He remains under the supervision of the Middlesex County court system while the case is pending.

Prosecutors said Mora, identified as a non-U.S. citizen, was among 12 men arrested during the six-day operation, which ran from December 8 through December 15 and involved federal, state and local law enforcement partners.

No court date has been announced.
