TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Health Department (OCHD) has just announced that appointments are fully booked for the COVID-19 vaccine clinic held at the RWJ Barnabas Healthcare Arena at Toms River High School North.

The OCHD is asking all residents to be patient regarding announcements about more appointments and vaccines becoming available.

At this time, the OCHD is asking residents not to call or email with questions regarding scheduling. Instead, residents can visit the OCHD website at ochd.org and/or the OCHD’s Facebook page for up-to-date information and phase eligibility guidance.

The appointment scheduling page is also experiencing technical issues due to the volume of people visiting the site. The high volume of visitors on the website has been slowing down the registration process and creating other technical issues.

The OCHD states individuals who received a screen confirming their appointment indicates their registration has gone through and is booked. Confirmation emails may be delayed.

The OCHD firmly addresses that the first and second dose appointments cannot be made at the same time. They will send individuals a private link allowing you to register for the second dose the morning after receiving your first dose.

The OCHD will update individuals when more appointments are available as they are working swiftly to reinforce the scheduling system.

Currently, only Phase 1A eligible people (including sworn in law enforcement personnel and fire professionals; seniors 65 and older and individuals 18 to 65 with medical issues (per CDC guidelines) can make an appointment.

Visit covidvaccine.nj.gov for more phase details.
