TOMS RIVER – According to Ocean County College’s website, the campus has been cleared and classes will continue normally.

“Ocean County College Security, Toms River Police and Ocean County Sheriff Department have given the all clear to the Grunin Building. All evening classes and activities will take place as scheduled,” stated the alert.

Ocean County College was possibly part of a series of bomb scares today, as a building was evacuated at approximately 3 p.m. for “suspicious activity.”

An alert on the college’s webpage stated that it was “necessary to evacuate the building immediately” at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts, Building #11 on OCC’s campus. The alert advised against using cellular phones.

This suspicious activity occurred on the heels of numerous bomb scares throughout the state and even the county.

Patch reported of bomb threats at both Linden High School and Bergen County Fair Lawn Middle School earlier in the day.
