Marijuana Facility Raided: Ocean County Residents Arrested

BRICK – A Brick couple was arrested for allegedly operating a marijuana facility out of a home in another part of the state.

Jason Andrew Bacon, 35, of 400 B Laurel Brook Drive, Brick and Kim Christopher, 31, of Toms River, were arrested.

A four-month investigation led to search of a home in Brick, at 400 B Laurel Brook Drive, and at 1111 North Delsea Drive in Clayton Borough. The drug facility was at the home in Clayton, where police found 38 marijuana plants, more than five pounds of marijuana, THC wax, money, and a loaded .25 caliber Beretta handgun.

Both of them are charged with the following:

  • Maintaining a CDS Manufacturing Facility (1st degree)
  • Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute (2nd degree)
  • Possession of Over 50 grams of Marijuana (4th degree)
  • Possession of CDS (cocaine) (3rd degree)
  • Possession of CDS paraphernalia (DP)
  • Possession of a Firearm during a CDS offense (2nd degree)
  • Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (2nd degree)
  • Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose (2nd degree)

Additionally, due to the search warrant in Clayton, Bacon was charged with the following:

  • Maintaining a CDS Manufacturing Facility (1st degree)
  • Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute (1st degree) (Marijuana plants)
  • Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute (1st degree) (Cultivated marijuana)
  • Possession of Over 50 grams of Marijuana (4th degree)
  • Maintaining a Fortified Structure (boards across entrances) during a CDS offense (3rd degree)

Police seized property allegedly used in the drug operation, including a home at 1111 North Delsea Drive, a 2013 BMW il25 (approx. value $20,500), and a 1999 Ford F-250 (approx. value $10,000).

The investigation was made by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force, the Brick Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit and Clayton Borough Police Department. Additionally, the US Department of the Treasury, US Postal Service, New Jersey State Police, Pitman and Westville Police Departments were involved.
