Lakewood Man Charged In Toms River Drug Dealing

  TOMS RIVER – Police said a home at the Hampton Gardens Apartment complex was being used to distribute drugs.

  Detectives observed a man leave the home in question on January 13. He was arrested without incident. A search of the home revealed about 150 dosage units of heroin and $2,100 in cash.

  Rizjoun Smullen, age 20, of Lakewood, was charged with Distribution of Less Than One Half Ounce of Heroin; two counts of Possession of Less Than One Half Ounce of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute; and two counts of Possession of Heroin.

  Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.

  Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer thanked the efforts of Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Asset Forfeiture Unit, Toms River Police Department Special Enforcement Team and the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department Detective Bureau in this investigation.
