Jersey Shore Deals With Power Problems Following Winter Storm

OCEAN COUNTY – More than one thousand homes are without power Friday morning after a nor’easter that brought snow, heavy rains and winds pounded the area Thursday.

First Energy, the parent company of Jersey Central Power and Light, is reporting a total of 1,011 confirmed and suspected outages throughout the county as of 9:30 a.m. Outage updates are provided every 15 minutes at outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html.

Currently, there are about 8,300 outages throughout the state, with the most in Monmouth County, with 4,570 customers confirmed or suspected to be without power. JCP&L provides power to 13 New Jersey counties.

First Energy said power should be restored by 1 p.m. to most areas.
