LAKEWOOD – Three men from Mexico have been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for repeatedly reentering the United States after being deported, officials said Wednesday.

Efrain Zamorano-Camacho, Fernando Rodriguez and Miguel Angel Munguia-Arcos were taken into custody Sunday during an ICE Newark immigration enforcement operation, according to an agency spokesperson. All three are being processed for removal under U.S. immigration law.

ICE said Zamorano-Camacho was deported twice, in 2013 following a local marijuana possession arrest and again in 2018. Rodriguez was deported in June and October 2011. Munguia-Arcos was returned to Mexico after being caught crossing the border illegally three times — once in March 2004 and twice in October 2022.

The spokesperson said the men “have shown blatant disregard for U.S. immigration laws” and criticized sanctuary city policies for enabling offenders to remain in the country despite removal orders.
