LAKEWOOD – A local catering business was destroyed by a large fire over the weekend.
On Sunday, Sept. 22, at approximately 8 p.m., a fire broke out at Greenwald Caterers on East Eighth Street in Lakewood. As a precaution, homes surrounding the area were evacuated, according to Lakewood Police.
A video shows numerous members of the community watching from the streets as the fire raged on.
Members of the Lakewood Fire Department and other local fire departments worked to extinguish the blaze, which was still smoldering early Monday morning, according to the Lakewood Scoop.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
