LAKEWOOD — The family of Eduardo “Lalito” Miñon Inclán has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for funeral and memorial expenses following the young boy’s tragic death in Lakewood.
In a message posted on the fundraising page, loved ones remembered Lalito as a joyful child with an infectious laugh and a caring heart. They said his sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew him. The campaign seeks financial assistance to ease the burden of end-of-life costs and allow the family to focus on grieving and healing. Supporters who are unable to donate are encouraged to share the fundraiser to help expand community outreach.
Authorities said the child was fatally shot during a robbery on March 1. According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, Lakewood Township police were called to Pearl Street at approximately 8:17 p.m. for reports of gunfire. Officers arrived to find a juvenile suffering from a single gunshot wound to the back.
Miñon Inclán was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where he later died from his injuries.
A joint investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, the Lakewood Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit determined that another juvenile was responsible for the shooting, officials said.
The suspect has been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The juvenile is being held at the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
Under New Jersey law, specifically N.J.S.A. 2A:4A-60, additional identifying details about the accused cannot be released due to the suspect’s age.
