  NEW EGYPT – Ocean Health Initiatives (OHI) will celebrate National Rural Health Day on November 19. Ocean Health Initiatives, a federally qualified health center with seven locations throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties, will join New Jersey Primary Care Association (NJPCA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to recognize this annual event with a day specifically to acknowledge the unique needs of our rural communities and the health disparities faced by this community.

  The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health has set aside the third Thursday of each November to celebrate National Rural Health Day. This year’s celebration will take place on November 19.

  OHI will celebrate National Rural Health Day by hosting a free flu shot and COVID-19 testing event on November 19 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Plumsted Municipal Building located at 121 Evergreen Road in New Egypt. Adults 19 years of age and older will be eligible for the free no cost Flu shots. COVID-19 testing will be available to all individuals who wish to be tested.

  OHI services residents in Monmouth and Ocean County regardless of income to provide basic and preventive care for all individuals and families in our area.

  COVID-19 testing is available at all OHI locations no appointment necessary. OHI also offers telehealth appointments.

  OHI Pharmacies are located in our OHI Freehold, OHI Lakewood, OHI Manchester, and OHI Little Egg Harbor locations and are available to all OHI patients. Qualified patients may be eligible for the discounted 340B pharmacy program.
