LAKEWOOD – Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out at Piner Elementary School on East County Line Road, officials said.
According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, firefighters and police responded to the school around 7:30 p.m. on October 3 and found the building engulfed in flames. Crews were able to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported, and the extent of the damage has not yet been released.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit–Arson Squad, Lakewood Police Detective Bureau, Ocean County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office.
