LAKEWOOD — Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out on the second floor of a 5th Street home on November 25. according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
The Lakewood Scoop was the first to report from the scene of the blaze.
Emergency crews from the Lakewood Township Police and Fire Departments arrived around 9 p.m. to find the upper level of the building burning. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, officials said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit–Arson Squad, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, the Lakewood Police Detective Bureau, and the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office are jointly investigating.
