OLD BRIDGE — A 19-year-old Ocean County man was killed when his SUV crashed and burst into flames on the southbound Garden State Parkway, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers said Lakewood resident Elchonon Fasten was driving in the express lanes shortly before 4:30 a.m. on November 19 when his vehicle left the roadway, slammed into a stand of trees and caught fire. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, about a half-mile north of Exit 120.
State Police are continuing to investigate what caused the SUV to veer off the highway.
