TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Library has announced that it will take part in “September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed the World,” memorial & museum’s education exhibition.

The downloadable educational exhibition shows the history of 9/11, its origins, and its ongoing implications through the personal stories of those who witnessed and survived the attacks.

It will be showcased throughout several library branches: Barnegat, Berkeley, Jackson, Lacey, Lakewood, Little Egg Harbor, Manchester, Point Pleasant Beach, Stafford, Toms River and Upper Shores branches.

The display includes 14 posters, highlighted by archival photos and images of artifacts from the Museum’s permanent collection. The pieces “explore the consequences of terrorism on lives and communities at the local, national, and international levels, and encourages critical thinking about the legacies of 9/11.”

The exhibition was developed by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and has been made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities: Democracy Demands Wisdom. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this exhibition do not necessarily represent those of the National endowment for Humanities.
