One of the largest providers of diagnostic testing has experienced a sizable data breach, affected nearly 12 million customers.
Quest Diagnostics confirmed that a data breach involving AMCA, a billing collections vendor, may have compromised customer information. A spokesperson for the New Jersey based company confirmed that the breach happened at AMCA which provides services to Optum360, which in turn provides payment services to Quest Diagnostics.
Specific information on the breach and those affected has not yet been released to Quest Diagnostics, according to the company.
The company has since suspended sending collection requests to AMCA.
