Cops: Man Killed Mother, Hid Her In Chest

  EDGEWATER PARK – Police charged a man with murdering his mother and hiding her body in his car for two weeks.

  Brian Templeton, 53, was charged with the murder of Doris Templeton, 77, and with desecration of human remains, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

  The suspect lived with is mother in the Courtyard Apartments on Cornwall Court, where the murder is believed to have occurred.

  Doris Templeton had not been seen or heard from in more than two weeks, so an employee of the complex asked police to check on her.

  That’s when police discovered that she had been murdered, and that her body had been put in a chest and put in the back of his car. He left his car in the parking lot of a pizza shop in Willingboro where was a driver and used her car instead.

  “There is no indication at this point in the investigation that Templeton made deliveries in the vehicle that contained his mother’s body,” the police specified.

  An autopsy determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

  All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
