Police Probe Hit And Run Incident

WALL – Township Police are seeking assistance from the public in providing any information concerning a January 3 hit and run incident in the area of Belmar Boulevard and Birchwood Lane.

  Police responded around 8:55 p.m. that night concerning a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a motor vehicle. An investigation by the officers revealed that the pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle which then left the scene prior to their arrival.

  The 32-year-old man who was struck is a resident of Asbury Park. He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune Township. Authorities reported the victim sustained serious injuries.

  Responders at the scene included members of the Wall Township Police Department Emergency Medical Services, paramedics from Hackensack-Meridian and the Glendola Fire Department who provided scene support.

  The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is continuing the investigation along with the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Team (SCART) and Wall Township Police.

  Further details concerning the victim have not been released.
