FREEHOLD – A local youth tennis instructor faces additional charges after a grand jury returned a superseding indictment, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Terry Y. Kuo, 26 of Colts Neck, also known as “Victor Lee,” is charged with 47 counts revolving around inappropriate contact with minors in his charge: first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, one count of second-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault, six counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of second-degree attempted sexual assault, four counts of first-degree causing or permitting a child to engage in child pornography, four counts of second-degree manufacturing child pornography, five counts of third-degree possession of child pornography, two counts of fourth-degree lewdness, three counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, eight counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one count of fourth-degree stalking, three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of third-degree obscenity and one count of fourth-degree conspiracy to tamper with physical evidence.

Kuo was indicted last February, but the superseding indictment, filed in December, charged him with additional crimes.

He remains in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

A 13-year-old tennis student accused Kuo of sexual misconduct during the summer and fall of 2017. Authorities investigated and allegedly found child pornography on his electronic devices, and “improper conduct with additional juveniles,” the prosecutor’s office said. The office did not say where he was a tennis instructor.

If convicted, Kuo faces life in prison with 25 years of parole ineligibility for each charge of aggravated sexual assault. The other charges carry 18 months to 20 years each.
