Monmouth County Man Charged With Murdering A Teen Girl

MONMOUTH COUNTY – A 20-year-old Long Branch man has been arrested and charged with the stabbing death of a 16-year-old girl.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said Bryan Cordero-Castro knew his victim, who police have not identified although they did say she was also from Long Branch.

Long Branch Police responded to a call Saturday night around 10:42 p.m. reporting the stabbing at 284 Van Pelt Place.

The victim was taken to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch where she died about a half hour later.

Cordero-Castro is charged with first degree Murder, third degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and third degree Attempted Escape.
