JERSEY SHORE – A beloved holiday fundraiser is set to return as 107.1 The Boss hosts its eighth annual Mistletoe Rock Radiothon, an all-day broadcast and auction designed to support JBJ Soul Kitchen, the nonprofit community restaurant program backed by the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
The event will run December 5 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., broadcasting live from the Freehold Raceway Mall, JBJ Soul Kitchen’s Red Bank and Toms River locations, and the station’s Neptune studio.
JBJ Soul Kitchen serves three-course, locally sourced meals using a “pay-it-forward” model that allows guests to donate toward their own food and help cover meals for others who cannot pay. The organization has provided more than 231,000 meals since its launch.
This year’s radiothon will include guest donors, celebrity conversations, and special incentives at both Soul Kitchen restaurants. Anyone donating two pay-it-forward meals can choose a piece of JBJ Soul Kitchen merchandise, and each location will give a Bon Jovi puffer jacket to the first two people who contribute $200. Donors can also become a “Partner in Soul” with a $107 gift, which includes a commemorative T-shirt — with some shirts signed by Jon Bon Jovi. Auction items, many of them rare or one-of-a-kind, will also be available, with all proceeds going directly to the organization.
On-air personalities including Greg T and Rochelle Gagnon, Michele Amabile, Cane Peterson, Tom Cunningham, Joe Nolan, Valerie Seagraves, Ralphie Aversa, Ross Brittain and Kermit will anchor the broadcast. Jon Bon Jovi, Dorothea Bongiovi, and representatives and clients of JBJ Soul Kitchen are expected to join throughout the day.
Last year’s Mistletoe Rock Radiothon raised $41,232.
