FREEHOLD – The former director of the Manasquan High School Warrior Band, Alan Abraham, pled guilty to stealing $2,300 from the organization, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Abraham, 60 of Belmar, pled guilty before Superior Court Judge Vincent N. Falcetano to one count of third degree Theft by Unlawful Taking.

When the County’s Financial Crimes Unit received word that Abraham received money meant for the high school’s band in April 2017, an investigation found that he stole approximately $2,300 between 2015 and 2016. Abraham allegedly deposited and transferred funds meant for the band into his own personal account.

The state has recommended that Abraham be sentenced to probation, pay restitution in the amount of $2,300 to the Manasquan Board of Education, and be barred from any type of future public employment.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 3, 2018.
