FREEHOLD – No one was injured after a vehicle caught fire near Elton Adelphia Road Tuesday afternoon just in time for the evening rush.
Freehold Township Police Sgt. Russell Gelber told Jersey Shore Onlinethe unidentified driver smelled smoke coming the vehicle. The driver pulled over and the car erupted into flames.
Local emergencies crews were called to the scene, where the car was extinguished and towed away.
The fire was not deemed suspicious, Gelber added.
