Cops: Man’s Handgun Modified To Be Machine Gun

  NEPTUNE CITY – Responding to reports of an argument, police tracked down a local man who was in possession of a hand gun that had been altered to only fire in fully automatic mode.

  Davon Harley, 30, of Neptune City, was arrested and charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of a machine gun. These charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.

  According to police, a Neptune City Police Officer confronted Harley in February while the man was arguing with others in the yard of an apartment complex. He fled through the complex and discarded a handgun. Police said it had a magazine capable of holding 31 rounds.

  The felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a machine gun charges each carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
