WHITING — A water pipe problem affecting part of a sprinkler system prompted a precautionary evacuation at Whiting Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, officials said.

The incident impacted limited areas of the building, leading to the relocation of about 60 residents. The evacuation is being overseen by the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, working in coordination with the Manchester Township Office of Emergency Management.

Facility officials said residents are being moved safely and emphasized that there is no danger to the public or immediate risk to residents or staff. Family members seeking updates are advised to contact the facility’s administration at 732-849-4400.
