MANCHESTER — The Manchester Township Police Department is accepting applications for a public safety telecommunicator, a key role responsible for handling emergency and non-emergency calls and coordinating responses with police, fire and emergency medical services.

Public safety telecommunicators serve as the first point of contact for residents seeking assistance, answering 911 calls and requests for service while prioritizing incidents and relaying critical information to field units. The position also involves entering and maintaining accurate records in the department’s computer-aided dispatch system.

According to the department, telecommunicators are expected to work with a variety of state and national databases used in law enforcement and public safety operations. The job also includes monitoring multiple communications systems that support daily public safety activities.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED. Certification in basic life support and CPR is required, while emergency medical dispatch certification and prior experience are preferred but not mandatory.
