Manchester Middle School Teacher Struck By Lightning

MANCHESTER – Lightning struck a 33-year-old Manchester Township Middle School teacher while on bus duty on March 7, police said.

The teacher was conscious and communicative and rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Police reported her injuries are not life threatening.

At 2:30 p.m., the teacher was standing on the front school sidewalk and holding an umbrella when she was struck. She was escorted into the building by two other teachers and taken into the nurse’s office. Manchester Township Police and Manchester Vol. First Aid Squad responded.

The teacher’s name has not been released.
