WHITING — Residents of the Cedar Glen Lakes community have been advised to boil their tap water after a water main break disrupted service, local officials announced.

The precautionary notice applies only to homes within Cedar Glen Lakes in Whiting. Repair crews are currently working at the site of the break, and officials say they will issue another update once the advisory is lifted.

Until service is fully restored, residents are urged to boil tap water for at least 20 minutes and let it cool before using it for drinking, cooking, or food preparation. Bottled water may be used as an alternative. While bathing is still permitted, officials cautioned residents to avoid swallowing any water.
