JACKSON – A multi-vehicle crash involving two cars and two motorcycles sent two to local hospitals over the weekend, police report.

On June 15, police and emergency personnel responded to the area of Cassville Road (Rt. 571) and Thompson Bridge Road for a crash.

A preliminary investigation found that the accident occurred when a 2000 white Honda Accord and a 2015 black Nissan Altima were traveling southbound on Cassville Road. The Nissan Altima was waiting to turn onto Thompson Bridge Road from Cassville Road when the Honda Accord struck the rear of the vehicle.

The collision caused the Nissan to move forward, crossing the center line directly into the path of two motorcycles, a 2000 red Ducati motorcycle and a 2016 black Yamaha FZ-07.

The driver of the Honda, 21-year old Honathan Chan-Valenzuela of Trenton, and the driver of the Nissan, 36-year old Adam Fleischhauer of East Windsor, were checked at the scene but refused medical attention.

The Ducati rider, 51-year old Troy Lawson of Barre, VT, was flown by Medevac to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment. The Yamaha rider, 51-year old Steven Avery of Barre, VT was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Quality First Aid for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses to the crash not already identified and interviewed at the scene are asked to contact PO Henba at 732-928-1111.
