JACKSON – A fire district warden discovered skeletal remains while on controlled burns at the Colliers Mills wildlife management area Monday afternoon.

Law enforcement officials closed off the area yesterday. The remains will be taken to the county medical examiner, who will work toward positive identification of the remains, as well as cause of death.

There is no danger to area residents, officials said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will release information as it becomes available.
