PLUMSTED – One man died and two others are in serious condition following a head-on crash in the township.
The 37-year-old man died in the collision while he was passing another vehicle, according to police who have not identified the person’s identity pending family notification.
Police reported that the driver was heading north on Pinehurst Road shortly before 8 p.m. on June 23 when he tried to pass another vehicle.
His vehicle struck an oncoming vehicle and then reportedly collided with the vehicle he was passing, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, a 77-year-old Manchester Township couple, whose vehicle was struck head-on, were hospitalized. Their injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
The third vehicle was driven by a 21-year-old driver, also from Manchester, who was not hurt.
