JACKSON – Detectives are currently investigating a reported shooting and robbery that occurred on Thursday night off of Toms River Road (571).
Police responded to Lewis Lane on February 17 after receiving multiple reports of shots fired. The residents of the home told police that they were sleeping when unknown suspects entered their home, brandished a firearm and robbed them stealing a cell phone and prescription medication.
The suspects then fled the area in a light colored 4-door sedan at which time multiple gunshots were heard.
Assisting with the investigation was the Ocean County CSI while officers checked the area and detectives followed up with interviews.
