Jackson Student Named All State Symphonic Band Trombonist

  JACKSON – Jackson Memorial High School is honoring one of its own for a great accomplishment!

  JMHS student Zachary Soricelli has been recognized as an All State Symphonic Band Trombonist as part of the New Jersey Music Educators Association All State Bands. 

  JMHS administration also recognized three other students were invited to audition for the All State Bands: Morgan Singleton, Nicholas Morales, and David Meriney. Soricelli and these three has already auditioned, been accepted and performed in the Region III (SJBODA) Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble.

  On Jan. 19, these students spent the morning at JP Stevens High School playing for a panel of judges, in hopes of being selected for these high caliber ensembles. 

  “We have recently learned the results and are excited to share that Zachary Soricelli has been recognized as an All State Symphonic Band Trombonist,” stated Jason Diaz, Director of Bands at JMHS. “He will be performing with the best musicians from the entire state of NJ in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall and the NJPAC in the third weekend of February. He is the first JMHS student in many years to be invited into this ensemble.”
