Jackson Police Seek Witnesses To Crash

JACKSON – Township police are continuing to investigate a serious motor vehicle crash and are seeking input from any witnesses concerning the incident.

  The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on October 6, at the intersection of Jackson Mills Road and North County Line Road.

  Responding officers and emergency personnel discovered the crash involved a passenger car and a motorcycle.

  The vehicles and their occupants were identified as Kathleen McQuilla, 63, of Lakewood who was driving a white 2012 Kia Sportage and Hal C. Hvidsten, 45, Jackson who was operating a black 2000 Harley Davidson Dyna.

  A preliminary investigation indicates that McQuilla was traveling south on Jackson Mills Road and entered the intersection of Jackson Mills Road and N. County Line Road. She proceeded to make a left turn onto N. County Line Road which was where Hvidsten was traveling in the opposite direction, north on Jackson Mills Road. He had entered the intersection and was struck by McQuilla’s vehicle.

  Hvidsten suffered multiple injuries and was flown via MEDEVAC to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

  Jackson Police officers Joseph Pante and Stephen Cilento of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit are conducting the investigation and any witnesses to the crash are asked to call the police department at 732-928-1111
