JACKSON — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man caught on video attempting to break into a residence on Jackson Mills Road.
According to the Jackson Police Department, the incident occurred on the morning of Monday, June 30, when a homeowner received a motion alert from her Ring doorbell camera while she was away. The footage showed a Black male, believed to be in his early 30s, attempting to open the front door of the home.
The suspect was wearing a white shirt, a navy blue Yankees cap, blue Nike shorts, and white sneakers. Police noted that he used his shirt to cover his hand while handling the door, apparently to avoid leaving fingerprints. A distinctive, jewel-encrusted ring was visible on the suspect’s right ring finger.
Prior to approaching the front door, surveillance footage from the back of the home showed the man entering the backyard through a gate.
A white sedan, believed to be associated with the suspect, was seen parked on Jackson Mills Road during the incident. However, no license plate was visible in the footage, and neighboring residences did not have additional video coverage of the event.
Anyone with information that could help identify the individual is urged to contact P.O. Zak (#337) via email at Mzak@jacksontwpnj.net or call the Jackson Police Department at 732-928-1111. Anonymous tips are welcome.
