Enforcement Detail Yields 87 Stops, Pot Arrests

JACKSON – Jackson Police cracked down over the weekend, stationing additional patrols and directed enforcement detail along Route 537 and in the Six Flags parking lot, in order to catch illegal activity and distracted, aggressive and impaired driving. 

  The October 18 enforcement detail yielded 87 motor vehicle stops, 32 of which doled out motor vehicle summons for various violations. 

  Officers also patrolled the Six Flags parking lot on foot, bicycle and vehicle during the height of the theme park’s Fright Fest season.

The following incidents were reported from the parking lot Oct. 18:

  • • At 5:21 p.m., officers arrested a 23-year old male from West Babylon, NY who was charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • • At 5:43 p.m., officers caught a 25-year old New York man rolling a marijuana blunt while seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle with the door open. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional marijuana. The man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • • At 6:48 p.m., officers arrested a 24-year old male fromWarminster, PA for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • • At 6:51 p.m., officers arrested a 21-year old female from Wrightstown, who was charged with possession of marijuana along with also having two outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • • At 7:10 p.m., officers arrested a 20-year old female from West Islip, NY who was charged with obstruction, a 20-year old male from Dix Hills, NY who was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and a 19-year old male also from Dix Hills, NY who was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were processed and released on summons pending court appearances.
  • • At 7:32 p.m., officers arrested a 19-year old male of New York for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • • At 8:13 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop on Monmouth Road, a 21-year old male and an 18-year old female resident of Newark, NJ were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • • At 8:29 p.m., officers arrested an 18-year old male resident of Union City, NY and charged him with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • • At 8:30 p.m., officers observed the occupant of a vehicle throw a plastic bag out of the window of the car. The bag was discovered to contain marijuana. A 19-year old male of Union City, NJ was charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
