JACKSON – The Jackson Township Police Department is currently investigating an attempted break-in from suspected car thieves.

An employee of a property management company stopped to check on the house the company owns and came across two unknown men who were standing by the garage during the afternoon of May 9. When the employee approached them, the men claimed they were looking for a school in the area. After a short conversation they left and the employee called police.

The two men were in a 2007 Ford F150 pickup, NJ registration XJPH59. The truck was gray with a red tailgate, police said.

After checking its registration, police discovered that the truck had been reported stolen out of Asbury Park.

The suspects were described as a black male and a white male, both approximately 18 to 21 years old and both wearing ski masks.

Police checked the home and believe the employee had arrived at the property before any entry could be made.

Anyone who may observe this truck, or who observes any suspicious activity is asked to contact police headquarters at 732-928-1111 to report it so officers can be dispatched to investigate.
