FREEHOLD – Two homeless men were arrested for breaking in and stealing items from a home.

The Freehold Township Police responded to a call from a resident on Rillstone Court reporting a burglary happening in their home. The resident was on the second floor of their home when they heard the back-sliding glass door shatter and a man’s voice. The resident was able to leave to home without being seen, and immediately contacted the police.

When police arrived at the scene, broken glass was found upon arrival and heard various noises from the second story of the home. Police found two male suspects taking jewelry and other possessions and putting them in their backpacks.

Police arrested 35-year-old Juan Manuel Gonzales-Rodrigues from Spain and 22-year-old Gustavo Acunas-Fica from Argentina and both were charged with burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief. The two do not have a permanent address and are homeless. They are currently being lodged in the Monmouth County Jail pending a bail retention hearing.
